Merari Herrera
Church Planting Resident
Merari is from Guatemala City, Guatemala. His parents moved the family of three to the U.S. when he was three years old, settling in sunny Los Angeles, California, where three siblings were added. For as long as he can remember, Merari has always been in the church. He made his profession of faith and was baptized at the age of 12, and continued to grow in his faith. In 2017, Merari met Megan at a honky-tonk after asking her to two-step. They married in 2019.
Two years later, the Herreras moved to Holland, Michigan to attend seminary, with Merari receiving his Master of Divinity from Western Theological Seminary in April 2024. He has had the privilege to serve the local church in different capacities: as a Community Group Coach and deacon at Pacific Crossroads Church (PCA) and as a pastoral intern and ruling elder at Grace Fellowship (OPC).
Merari roots for the Lakers and Dodgers, because, why not? He’s also into music, the history of music, and live concerts. When he is not eating Mexican food, he’s burning off the calories to replenish with more Mexican food.
